Admission with MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation under the Special Program) for the Department of Mechanical Engineering , Materials Science, and Ocean Engineering



The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, and Ocean Engineering of the Graduate School of Engineering Science is recruiting international students who want to enroll in Doctoral or Master's Program in October 2025 through the MEXT* Scholarship (Research Student by University Recommendation under the Special Program).

International students enrolled in this special program belong to the PED** program and emphasize an internship while studying.The objective of the program is to develop key players who will become immediate assets and leaders in heavy industry digital transformation in both in Japan and countries with rapid gorowth recently.

*MEXT: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, Japan, (Monbukagakusho)

**PED(Pi-type Engineering Degree) Program : Practical education is offered in a combination of modules, each of which systematically integrates a studio (laboratory courses, exercises, and training related directly to manufacturing and conducted in a small team) with related lecture courses.In master's programs, studio deliverables are mainly used to prepare portfolios in place of a master's thesis.
